Your genome stays yours.
Genetic data is the most personal data a person owns. GeneLab is built to treat it that way, encrypted end to end, access-controlled, and deletable on request.
Encryption
Every file you upload is encrypted the moment it arrives and stays encrypted at rest in storage, keyed to your account. Transfers happen over modern TLS. Your raw genomic data and any lab PDFs you add are never stored in the clear.
Access control
Your data is scoped to your account. The analysis pipeline processes it in an isolated context, and the AI Health Assistant on the Max Plan reads only your reports and your uploaded labs, nothing is pooled across customers or used to answer anyone else's questions.
HIPAA
GeneLab is built to meet HIPAA's administrative, physical, and technical safeguards for protected health information. That covers the upload path, the processing pipeline, report delivery, and the conversational AI engine.
GDPR & your data rights
Wherever you are, you can exercise the core data rights GDPR guarantees:
- Access, request a copy of the data we hold for you.
- Portability, export your reports and structured results in open formats (JSON/CSV).
- Erasure, ask us to delete your raw files and reports from storage, and we will.
To make a request, email privacy@genelab.bio from the address on your account.
Data retention
We keep your reports available in your portal so you can return to them, and we keep your raw file only as long as needed to deliver and support your analysis. You can delete your raw file, your reports, or your whole account at any time, deletion removes the data from active storage.
A note on scope
GeneLab provides genetic information and analysis. It is not a medical device, and nothing in our reports or AI answers is a diagnosis. For any medical decision, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
We'll tell you exactly what we hold.
